Pancakes, Conversation, and a Whole Lot of Love: Over 100 Neighbors Gather for Pancakes & Love
October 24, 2026 | St. George, Utah
Full tables, full bellies, and full hearts — another Pancakes & Love gathering shows what can happen when a community comes together.
On Saturday morning, October 24, something special happened in St. George. More than 100 people came together for a Pancakes & Love neighborhood breakfast, and what started with pancakes and sausage turned into something much bigger.
The tables were full. The bellies were full. The conversations were flowing. And somewhere between the first pancake served and the last conversation shared, the love grew a little stronger.
That's exactly what Pancakes & Love was created to do.
More Than Just Breakfast
Throughout the morning, neighbors sat together, shared stories, laughed, and enjoyed a hot breakfast. Some arrived knowing each other, while others found themselves sitting across from someone they had never met.
And that's where the magic happens.
Several people shared that something like this has been needed in their community for a long time.
For Pancakes & Love founder Buck Mays, hearing those words meant more than any donation could.
"When people tell us this is something they've been needing for a long time, it reminds us why we started Pancakes & Love in the first place. It makes us feel like we're doing something right, and it makes us want to work even harder to bring this to more neighborhoods."
The goal has never been complicated. Bring people together, share a meal, start a conversation, and remind people that they matter.
Sometimes, all it takes is an invitation to sit down at the table.
A Breakfast Already Paid For — A Chance to Pay It Forward
One of the most important things about Pancakes & Love is understanding how the program works.
When Pancakes & Love comes to your neighborhood, your breakfast has already been paid for.
There is no charge to attend. No one is expected to make a donation, and no one will ever be turned away because they cannot contribute.
That's the heart of the Pay It Forward program.
Donations from individuals, businesses, and neighbors help make the next breakfast possible. Those who are able and wish to contribute are invited to help carry that kindness forward to another neighborhood.
During the October 24 gathering, several generous people made donations. Those contributions have helped provide enough funding for the next Pancakes & Love neighborhood breakfast.
And that means the love gets to keep moving.
One neighborhood helps make the next neighborhood possible. One act of kindness creates another.
It's a simple idea, but one that has the potential to bring an entire community closer together.
The People Behind the Pancakes
Of course, a morning like this doesn't happen without people willing to give their time, energy, and hearts.
Behind the griddles, Buck Mays, Ryan Rouse, and Spencer Thompson kept the pancakes and sausage coming, making sure everyone had a hot meal.
Camryn Rouse handled the preparation work that helped everything run smoothly.
Jordan Brady spent the morning serving food, making sure guests were taken care of.
Sylvannas helped welcome guests and get everyone seated, making sure people felt comfortable and had a place at the table.
Brigette Brady and Camryn Rouse took the photographs that helped everyone remember the morning.
And Diana Mays, co-founder of Pancakes & Love, spent the morning doing something just as important as preparing breakfast — visiting with people, listening to their stories, sharing conversations, and making connections.
What made this particular morning so meaningful wasn't just how well the team worked together. It was the spirit in which they served.
Everyone seemed to know what needed to be done without being asked. There was a genuine sense of teamwork, kindness, and purpose.
You could see it in their faces.
They weren't simply volunteering to serve breakfast. They were there because they cared about the people sitting at those tables.
And that made all the difference.
Where Should Pancakes & Love Go Next?
With the next neighborhood breakfast now funded, Pancakes & Love is looking for its next community gathering location.
We want to hear from you!
Is there a neighborhood where people could benefit from getting together? Somewhere neighbors haven't had much opportunity to meet? A community where a warm breakfast and a little conversation might make a difference?
We invite you to nominate your neighborhood for an upcoming Pancakes & Love breakfast.
Remember, the breakfast is already paid for. All we ask is that you come, bring your neighbors, enjoy a meal, and spend a little time getting to know one another.
And if you feel inspired to make a donation, that gift will help us take Pancakes & Love to the next neighborhood.
That's how Pay It Forward works.
The Love Doesn't Stop When Breakfast Is Over
Pancakes & Love is about more than pancakes. The organization is also working to support children, families, veterans, seniors, and individuals who may need a little extra help or simply someone willing to walk alongside them.
But the neighborhood breakfasts will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Because when people sit down together, something changes.
Strangers become acquaintances. Acquaintances become friends. And neighborhoods begin to feel like communities again.
To everyone who attended on October 24, thank you.
To everyone who donated, thank you for helping make the next gathering possible.
And to every volunteer who gave their time and energy, thank you for showing what Pancakes & Love is really about.
We couldn't do this without you.
Our tables were full. Our bellies were full. Our conversations were full. And the love grew.
That's all we ever hoped for.
And we're just getting started.
